Georgia native and Atlanta based Greg Carter was exposed to art at an early age from his father, a life-long graphic designer, illustrator, and fine artist. Greg graduated with honors from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California in 1997. After a stint as a freelance illustrator, he concentrated on his fine art and developed a highly impressionistic style, exploring landscapes, cityscapes, and the figure through the bold application of richly layered paint. In paintings that skirt the edges of abstraction, sculptural forms and blurry images resolve as meditative figures and lyrical market and café scenes. Greg continually finds inspiration in his travels abroad, as well as in "slice of life" images of everyday living. He exhibits throughout the United States and was the subject of feature articles in U.S.Art and SouthwestArt magazines.
