Known for poetic figurative paintings, C.M. Cooper graduated from Pasadena's Art Center College of Design with a degree in fashion illustration. She followed a career as a fashion layout artist, as well as freelancing as an editorial illustrator. Continued studies at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris and with mentor Joseph Mendez helped in her re-establishment as a fine artist. She refers to herself as a "Contemporary Traditionalist", painting traditional subject matter in an alla prima style. C.M. Cooper is a member of the American Artists Professional League, the American Society of Portrait Artists and Oil Painters of America, where she received the Award of Excellence in 2005. Museum exhibitions include the Pasadena Museum of History, Pasadena Museum of California Art and the Springfield Museum of Art, Illinois.
