Frank LaLumia is a nationally recognized painter in both oil and watercolor plein air painting. He is the author of the book, Plein Air Painting in Watercolor and Oil and is the subject of several instructional books on painting technique. Born in Chicago in 1948, he received his fine art training at Bradley University and the American Academy of Art in Chicago. In recent years, his work has consistently placed in the Top 100 paintings for the Arts for the Parks National Competition and was the recipient of the Wildlife Award in the 2001 exhibition. LaLumia's works are held in the permanent collections of the Museum of New Mexico, the Albuquerque Museum, the Americana Museum in El Paso Texas, and the A.R. Mitchell Museum in Colorado. He is a Signature Member of Plein Air Painters of America, American Watercolor Society, Oil Painters of America, and the National Watercolor Society and is an Artist Member of the California Art Club.
