M Kathryn Massey is acknowledged for her classical still life paintings influenced by the Dutch and Flemish Masters. Painter, teacher, and writer, Massey works in both oil and pastel creating works through chiaroscuro (light and dark), warm color harmonies and professional craftsmanship. She is a Signature Member of the American Academy of Women Artists, Oil Painters of America, and Audubon Artists. She is also an Artist Member of Allied Artists of America, Portrait Society of America and American Artist Professional League. Massey's works were the subject of a feature article and the cover of the March 2006 issue of American Artist Magazine. Her work is also included in the Best of Pastel, 2005 by Northlight Books. The Indiana based Massey served as President of Indiana Women Artists and teaches at the Indianapolis Art Center and at invitational workshops throughout the United States.
